Work with Parts

The SDCC program is intended for automating the process of optimal location of rectangle parts on sheet area. That is why the source information for project is the list of parts, which are to be cut and the sizes of sheets to be cut. Dimensions (length and width), resource (sheet type) and pattern (color and texture) are set for each part. If the part is to be edge banded, then the part's sides to be banded are additionally set. It is done for correcting the blank's dimensions if necessary, as some edgebanding machines require technological edge processing before banding. As a result of it, for example, some quantity of material is cut. Besides, edge material has some thickness, so the parts' dimensions will be increased during banding. Therefore the program is to decrease the blank's dimensions to this value. The Program has two edge calculation modes: standard and advanced. You can flexibly set edge-processing algorithm in advanced mode.

Optimization Methods

The Program is intended for optimal use of resource during production by locating parts on sheet area in optimal way. Therefore while developing program much attention was paid to for adapting the cutting algorithm matching the existing production equipment and also the production specific characters (large-scale, small-scale, etc). While entering project you may set the way the first cut is to be done: along the long or short sheet sides. If you machine can make the first cut in any direction, then it may be set in the program. In this case the program will select optimal direction of the first cut. If you machine can make so-called "Z-cuts" (to process the part inside the band), or you cut these bands on other machine then set it in program as "Completion Mode". In this case the program will generate sheet layouts in accordance with these modes. You may considerably decrease the production cost thanks to the program's feature to use waste pieces from previous cuttings in the current project. The program has waste pieces base and can use them instead of full-size sheets.

Viewing and Correcting Sheet Layouts

Having been calculated the project in automatic mode you can view sheet layouts, correct them and print them. While correcting sheet layouts you can locate blanks on sheet layout in any way, delete bad sheet layouts, change the quantity of sheets in layout and many other things. In the process of it the program will help you to locate the blank in a right way, to adjust it to the given modes, to count the quantity of unallocated blanks. The great feature of the program is automatic location of blanks on sheet layout while correcting manually.

Templates

One more remarkable feature of the program is operating templates. It will be useful for you if you produce product sets, which only differ by their composition and the material used. For example your enterprise produces a certain range of products which are further used for making sets. In this case, a customer can choose the material of which the products are made (sheet type and pattern). While using templates you needn't enter the list of parts for each project every time. It's enough once to fill product templates of sets, in which sheet type and pattern are substituted by attributes. Then it's enough to compose the set using product templates and to set real values for attributes - and you get the ready project for its calculation.

Sheet Layout Export

For easy entering sheet layouts into machine the program provides the possibility of sheet layouts export. It means that the program can convert sheet layouts into the form, ready for automatic entering into the machine directly. It may be file in special format depending on the machine or data stream, which is being transferred directly to the machine through the computer communication ports, local area network (LAN) etc. As for the customer's wish we would develop such module for his machine.
